The shape of the city
Limassol is long and thin — roughly fifteen kilometres of coast and only a few kilometres deep. That geometry means most journeys are east–west and most congestion is on two parallel roads.
Buses and bikes
Bus coverage along the coast is decent and cheap; north–south coverage is thinner. The promenade cycle path is genuinely useful for commuting between the eastern suburbs and the centre.
