Limassol as a city2 min readUpdated July 2026
Limassol's climate and what it demands from a building
Hot dry summers, mild wet winters, salt air — and the design responses that matter.
The climate
Limassol has long hot summers, short mild winters and roughly three hundred days of sun. Rain arrives in concentrated winter bursts, which matters more for drainage design than the annual total suggests.
What good building does about it
Shading before glazing, insulation continuous across the envelope, cross ventilation, and corrosion-resistant fixings near the coast. These four decisions determine comfort and running cost for the building's whole life.
