Cyprus consistently records among the lower violent crime rates in the EU, and Limassol is a city where children walk to neighbourhood schools without much thought.
Languages and communities
Greek is the official language; English is functionally universal in business and services, and Russian is widely spoken. Established Russian, Israeli, Lebanese, British and Ukrainian communities all have schools, clubs and places of worship in the city.
