Ancient Kourion
A Greco-Roman city on the cliffs west of Limassol, with a theatre still used for performances.
The site
Kourion sits on a bluff above the sea, with a restored theatre, the House of Eustolios and its mosaics, an early Christian basilica and a Roman agora. It is the most complete classical site in the Limassol district.
Practical
Twenty minutes west of the city. Go early — there is almost no shade on the plateau — and combine it with Kourion Beach below.
